OH YA....when my son showed up,he was pretty freaked out, flying into the ambulance{ I WAS OK} first thing he said to me....pretty stupid way to get a mustang...my reply NO MUSTANG ever!!!!!

Thx Dave....kinda weird,I was never scared,and your right,trucks replaceable!

Those kind of things always seem slow motion when you're the main attraction.
So, did you have a passenger you could say " Hold my beer, I'm gonna try sumpthin' " to? :D

Bad luck Mrs. Greg. Glad you are OK. This would have been a better adventure for you if it happened in Sask. They used to make trucks everyday. Who knows nowadays. :???:

Very glad you're ok!!! Don't you think that was deserving of it's own post to tell us what happened  Sure glad it won't mess up your trip!

Look on the bright side...now you can get a Dodge :P

Ok...so heres the story:heading into Edmonton for my little nephews Bday. Weather was calm when I left, son was meeting me in Camrose to drive rest of way with him. About 15 miles out of Camrose, felt like a wind gust took my truck across the centre line,I went to pull it back and the black ice underneath didn't agree, three nice loops on the hwy,hit the edge of the ditch, couple nice air rolls, poof into really deep snowback in a pretty deep ditch, upside down no less.Really no time to think except for a quick prayer when I hit the edge of the ditch and knew there wasn't going to be any pulling out of it.

No problam getting out of my seatbelt upside down,but getting out of truck a differnt story,front was buried in snow,but passerbyers got me out the back door{drivin a Ford explorer sport trac}

While the tow truck was trying to get my truck out,by then I was gone into Camrose with my son,I guess another truck hit the ditch right beside my truck, the roads were pure ice.Firefighters were controling traffic, and RCMP officer told us guy almost took him and four firefighters out!

EMS,RCMP,firefighters were AWESOME!!! And the girl working with EMS that day was a relative and a girl I work a lot with, and just HAPPENED to get called to work for Camrose EMS that day :D It was SOOO nice seeing her.

I had no time to have anybody hold me beer{or Ice wine  } Thank goodness it didn't happen in Sask.....I'd prob still be a rollin :P I waited till 50 to roll a truck... NO small car of any kind for me Lilly and MOST certainly NEVER a Dodge..... 8) And yes Nicky,Jamaica is lookin REALLY good right now!!

All in all it was an interesting day if nothing else  :)

Nope,by the time I rolled the truck, blizzard number 800  had hit and we weren't going anywhere including home, got a hotel room and Waylon played in the pool all day.It ended up OK.....feeling bad though cause my nieces are really feeling like its their fault having the party in that weather....I'm a BIG girl that made a dumb decision to be on the road that day   I guess your never too old to make a dumb mistake :lol:OR learn a lesson!!

No problam getting out of my seatbelt upside down, but getting out of truck a differnt story,

Did Hooks ask you for a ' pic' of your ' brand' also????

I'm glad you are not injured too badly. And ya, you sure wouldn't want a bruise on your brand . . . . Take care on those roads. This time of year is as bad as any with the thaws and quick freezes we are having.

Dang it girl.........we know you wanta act like a Sasky but you do realize that you can't do it overnite.............takes training & practice to hand the drink off in time to avoid the wreck.!!!
Seriously...... Explorers have a bit of a rep as being top heavy in a skid & are subject to rollovers. Heal fast now & get back into action ASAP.......maybe we'll form a committee to pick your next new vehicle out! 8) 8)

Definitely not time yet to store the longhandles...Sounds like Kola and Haymaker better dig theirs out- as this will dip all the way south to Texas...
10 Below with a NNW wind about 15 mph- and 30 Below chill factor right now....

Cold Blast Follows Storm
Updated: Tuesday, March 10, 2009 3:40 PM

A bitterly cold air mass currently over southern Canada will plunge southward across the Plains behind the storm that is bringing blizzard conditions to the northern Plains and severe weather to the Midwest. This cold air made its presence felt across the northern Plains on Tuesday as temperatures failed to reach 20 degrees as far south as northern Nebraska. The real chill be felt across Montana and North Dakota where some locations had subzero high temperatures. To make matters worse, strong winds and blinding snow made for a blizzard amidst in dangerous wind chills in the eastern Dakotas into northern Minnesota.

Some of this cold will fan out southward delivering a shock to the southern Plains on Wednesday. Temperatures will be 20, 30 and even 40 degrees lower in Kansas to Texas. Temperatures in Dallas, Texas, for example, will struggle to reach the low 50s on Wednesday after nearing 80 degrees on Tuesday.

This shot of cold air will also flow eastward. Take Nashville, where Tuesday's record-challenging warmth will give way to a chilly rain on Wednesday.
