Maybe the following rant should be in "political bull", but I am putting it here......sue me!!!
In Manitoba, where I live, we are "blessed with an "NDP"(New Democratic Party) government, elected for the most part by the tree huggers in the City of Winnipeg which outnumber us rural folk.
We are also blessed with a 7% sales tax on pretty much every thing. Farm-use items are supposed to be exempt.
I bought a 1998 Chev truck today and went to put insurance and registration on it......oh,ya...we are also blessed with socialist government auto insurance.....no other option.
Anyway, I got the truck for $8000.00. I go to put the insurance on it and the "average wholesale value",as determined by the govt. is $9800.00 and change. So guess what...... before I can have the insurance and license plates I have to pay the 7% sales tax on $9800.00, not on the $8000.00 that I actually paid..... never mind that "farm use" items are suppose to be tax exempt.
If you like paying taxes on money that never even existed, let alone changed hands, just move to Manitoba.
I've got a neighbor that is a closet commie and always votes NDP, I am seriously thinking about hangin' a lickin on him tomorrow, just out of principle!!!!
