Took my daughter and her lamb in to the county fair today. We got her pen set up, washed the lamb and put a t-shirt on the lamb to keep her clean.
We got told it was time for the weight in and we needed to get to another building. Well we went to take the t-shirt off. Told the daughter to get a hold of the lambs head.
She got a good grip and as I was taking the shirt off the lamb jumped and tried to buck away from us.
Daughter has a hold of her and is not letting go. daughter then tripped and fell taking the lamb with her. Lamb got up, still not able to get away because daughter still has a hold of her head. Daughter cannot get up because the lamb is standing on her legs.
I had to go and get the lamb so my daughter could get up. Everyone praised her for holding on and not letting go.

Just wish I had my camera with me and snapped a picture of her laying on her back, clutching that lambs head and the lamb laying on top of her.
I know I shouldn't laugh but it was sure funny looking.
Lamb needs another bath now.We both end up soaked by the time we are done.
Show is tomorrow nigt at 7pm.
Gotta be there before 6am for the manure truck.
Going to be a looonnnggg day.

Do they show hogs at your show too. I watched that a P'wood one time I think that was the most entertainment ever in 4H. Good luck with your lamb-what breed is it. I want to get some Scotch Blackface's here just to irritate people lol.

Well she got high praise from the Judges for trying.
The entertainment was right there in the sheep ring did not need hogs helping.
As she was going into the ring I took the halter off. She turned around and did not see the pipe at the bottom of the gate and tripped.
She fell in front of the judges table was laying there on her back, but hanging onto her lambs head. Not letting go.
Judge had to tell her to let go of her lamb. She thought he was just going to stand her on her feet so she could continue.

As she was showing her lamb in both Showmanship and Market she just kept "baaa" to her lamb. I asked her why. Because her lamb likes the sound of her voice.
Can't argue that logic.

Sold her lamb today. She got $5.25 a pound for a 100# lamb.
It was at $1.30 and just as I was about to bid it took off. A bidding war between our uncle's work place; we buy from them quite often; and another person, I never saw who.
4th highest price. :D :D :D

There she was walking around the ring "baaa" to her lamb and a few people heard it.

Yes OD she is tough. I think tomorrow she might be upset over her lamb being sold, but she was ready for it. Had one girl who was just bawling over selling her lamb. Felt bad for her.

V_Key Market Animals were always Named FoodStuffs
"Prime Rib" "Chops" etc.

I was worried about how she'd handle her first the loss of her Market Lamb...
While other's were Crying She was Leading her's and others Lamb to the truck...

Animal Rights People went Nuts Over one of her lambs names "TO BE" when they asked the meaning...

His Full Name was "To Be Terminated" - The Fair had to call the Sheriff's to escort them Off the Grounds

I had to step-in when one lady was going to hit her  :!: :!:
