MADE WHERE??

The problem is american greed the companies want to make as much as possible. The american worker want's a nice fat paycheck, medical benefit's and retirement all furnished by the employer. Let's take an example here a gooseneck coupler assembly that I buy a China made will cost $68 an american made is $136 my cost. The shipping should account for something so if raw materials cost each company the same why so much differance most all of these things are robotically mfg. I'm sorry but I'm not buying the all american made is best. If you are in the MFG. Business and buy all american you won't buy much because you won't have any work. The large trailer mfg companies have the size to dictate purchase price on product. Smaller companies don't have the mean's to do this. Funny thing is I can go look at any top name brand trailer and can pick out the imported parts as they all use them too.

I like Banana's and I'm quite sure we don't raise very many in the USA. I like coffee also and I'm thinking there's not much raised here also.

I didn't intend for this to become a Political of Bull Session discussion. I just thought it might be interesting to hear some examples from the ranchers.net crowd. Things you don't think twice about at the time, but make you raise an eyebrow when you realize it.

The way of life that we have lived it is not the same any more. The American way of life as I grew up in is simply not out there. Society has taken a complete turn a round.

Yeah I sure miss the good old day's where venison was our daily meal mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. :gag:

Well when you walk into the produce section in January and see fresh tomatoes you should know that most of that stuff came from Mexico or even farther south. And when you live in the Nebraska and the sign in the market says "Fresh Shrimp" ask them "how fresh" and "how many times frozen". Lots of cases of "assuming" when you buy groceries.

Just bought some "Mr Dees" frozen french fries today that are a product of Canada. Funny how we automatically think potatoes come from Idaho. Yanuck must have exported the technology back to her homeland :D

Personally, I'd rather eat food from Canada than a lot of other countries we get stuff from, but I'll bet the R-SPUD crew doesn't care for imported potatoes

Pretty thriving potato industry in Alberta. Too close to the Rocks where I live though. Have a friend that has 1000 acres in his rotation.

If you want American potatoes you have to buy Frito Lay. They get the potatoes from CSS Farms here in Dalhart.
I have a potatoe bag that shoer gave me from big Idaho potato farm and it says right on it Idaho potatos then on the bottom says from Nebraska :???: :?
They have now in the store "imported" Coke  yeap from Mexico

Hay I agree.....nothing original anymore. A lot of this stuff probably originates here but it's cheaper to literally ship it overseas for processing and packaging and return it here for resale due to cheap labor etc. But I guess I'm also part of the probelms. Have smoked for years and ordered my brand off the internet a few weeks ago because I could get the same cigarettes (Winston) but made in Germany for less than half what they cost locally. $21.00 per carton....Even worse is that the cigarettes are better than the ones made in the USA. :?
