Bulls went out yesterday with the cows. Today we AIed all the 900s, 800s, and a couple of 700s (born 2009, 2008, 2007 respectively). We are pretty pleased at the group.
We gave estrumate on Sunday, heat checked for a ouple of days and then today we AIed everything to L T Bandwagon and turned out our walking sire. Since we are commercial and DNA all our replacements this program works for us. There were a lot of cows acting simple this morning.
I did not get any pics of our AI setup, since I am the tech and am not coordinated enough to take my picture while I have one arm in...
We use a little 12V power inverter to power the thaw box, and AI off the tailgate...

RSL, just wondering how many of the mob or what % of the mob you got AI'd via a detected heat between Sundays needle and the last day of AI before bulls went in?

It varies year to year, just depending on how cows fall around the estrumate date. We typically find 5 to 10% in the two days following and 60-70% on the 3rd day. We have DNA tested for a few years now and we are typically getting from 50% to 65% AI conceptions.
