Snowy Morning

Shortgrass - your excellent verse reminds me of another that I heard from an old gentleman whose slow, low drawl added immensely to the meaning of the poem -

"As a rule,
man's a fool.

When it's hot,
he wants it cool.

When it's cool,
he wants it hot.

He always wants it
how it's not."

Exactly!

Darn it Dylan you just had to share  :P We look about the same way this morning as you did yesterday.. Hopefully the temp will go up (31 now) and it will soon be gone.....

OT, I am a generous kind of guy  The forecast is for Sunny skies and above freezing a few degrees from Wednesday on. That would be good as we are going to run the calves through and give them a booster and put in the nose tags Thursday, in preparation for weaning next week. Weaning a month and a half earlier this year, see how that works on these May/June calves.

I guess I shouldn't complain-altho this cold wind cuts right thru you-- as it looks like just east of us is in for much worse... Looks like it could really get wicked in parts of ND...

A Blizzard Warning is in effect for Sheridan, Eastern Roosevelt and Richland Counties through 6 am Wednesday. 2 to 4 inches of snow will combine with northwest winds of 30 to 40 mph and gusts to 50 mph to produce blizzard conditions. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Dawson and Wibaux Counties for snow and blowing snow. Across the rest of northeast Montana, expect light snow with northwest winds of 25 to 40 mph...

Went to a farm auction today and man was it cold on top of that hill. :x

Switched the cows and calves when i got home . Put the calves in the corral and turned the cows out. They have been split since Saturday night and with this weather the cows were ready to leave for the most part. The calves lined up at the bunk for hay so I must be ready for winter.

Tonight
Mostly cloudy. Slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the lower 70s. South winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 20 percent.

We had BSE exams done today on some bulls it was windy but dang it was hot hot hot....I can't imagine snow this time of year. The pictures of the sunrise were awesom thanks for shareing! We were out in the Gulf last Friday taking advantage of the snapper season that was reopened for the month of October due to the Gulf being closed during the oil spill. Pecan crusted Snapper is sooooooooooo good.

 I bought 27 screw in bin anchors for $6/piece. Actually they charged me for 25 but there was 27 in the pile. they are heavy ones that should work on a fence corner. I was told they cost around $20 plus. :) The 18 wheel rake I went to look at which has $25,000 new cost sold for $14,000. I chased the fellow that bought it. It was probably a good enough buy but the fellow that owned it was pretty rough with everything else. :?

Suppose to get to 14 overnight, a little intro to what's coming eventually, suppose to warm up a daytime high 44/45 by the end of the week though. :-)

Its down to 13 here this morning with no wind. The hunters that are here with a couple of pop-up campers sure are glad the wind has went down, things were a little shaky during the night when it was gusting up over 50.
