How come we have not heard of yur close encounter with mean old mountain lion?

Unless i missed something, all i hear about is a school teacher that run one over, or whatever. Never heard about your sighting..............did it slip your mind?

And what your feed ground......your pasture?
I don't know why you haven't heard about it. Maybe because I don't count you in the circle of friends that I talk with regularly? If you really are Tony Dean, and I'm more convinced than ever that you are, you'll remember that we've only spoken once and you lied about that conversation.

LB...I think you posted a pic of that cat the teacher hit. I haven't looked but it should be in the archives if this guy wants to look it up.

If i was dean.....id be fishing right now.....

You seem like such an angry woman. How come you have to call names and pick on my spelling? I could go to my texting lingo if you would prefer.

Oh, i have seen the pic. I believe the lions are out there. I believe the school teacher hit the thing, I have never said its not true.

What i have said is, this is the first time i have heard of LB actually seeing a lion. Tell us the story lb. How come we have heard your story several times about the teacher but not YOUR actual sighting. All of a sudden it just pops up..........could it be your full of BS??

Come on LB tell us the story.....im guessing it was something like......i was gardening naked when all of a sudden, this lion, using the open fields laws.... shot across my daisys and tulips....

You're upset because I'm calling YOU names? I will admit that calling you Tony Dean would be a low blow if you weren't him, but you'll have to produce a real name and address for yourself to convince us otherwise. Most of us posting on ranchers.net don't mind revealing who we really are. Do you have the guts?

Let's see now - NUTS, b….h, angry woman – the things you've called me just in the last three posts you've made on here don't constitute name calling? It wasn't so long ago that Red Robin dubbed you SD Stalker and, I gotta tell you, the name fits you to a tee!!!

your absolutely right. they are names......must hurt huh?

I will throw another name into the hat....how bout liar.

i think the only lion you have see was the one run over, before that, in the zoo, maybe even the wizard of oz.

if you dont like to be called names....maybe you should treat those like you like to be treated. thats what my farm raised background has taught me. hold doors for ladys etc.

You are always going to run into people that believe the following;

If I didn't see it, it didn't happen.

If it doesn't affect me it is okay.

If it isn't what the books says it isn't true.

There mind is made up.

It really doesn't matter to me what SDH believes or not.

I've seen a mountain lion--- believe it or not.

My goodness! You do have your knickers in a knot, don't you?

Let me get this straight – when I dispute your ridiculous posts I'm acting like a man? That's a sexist remark if I ever heard one! I'm betting you've just offended both the male and the female ranchers on this board.

I'll admit that calling you Tony Dean is pretty low… unless you happen to be Dean like some of us believe. Since you're so easily offended, just bear in mind that as long as you keep posting your anti-agriculture garbage on a ranching website, we will keep telling you what we think about it and you're going to get upset again.

Okay SD Stalker, a.k.a. Tony Dean, pay attention. Go to the legislative archives and listen to my testimony before committee on the mountain lion bill and you can hear everything I said.

Talk to some of GF&P on this side of the state and ask what I've told them. Sorry I didn't include you in our conversations, but it frankly never entered my mind.

Oh darn, that's right!! You've never given us your name so I wouldn't have been able to include you anyway, would I? Care to let us know who you really are or are you totally spineless as well as rude and ignorant? Until we hear differently, we'll just take it for granted that you are Tony Dean.

How's that for insulting?

What would it matter? I could tell ya im Jim Preheim from Madison, or John Smith from Armour, or Garrett Thompson from Menno. Would it matter?
Your insistence on remaining hidden behind a pseudonym doesn't surprise anyone on this board. Now we know just how spineless you truly are.

Stalkers and snipers hide in the shadows because anonymity protects them from being identified by the people they attack.

Until you convince us otherwise, Southdakotahunter = Tony Dean.

I gotta say, I spit up my glass of milk when I read that!!! :D
What's with you 2 anyway??? Lover's spat or something  :D :D

I think GF&P has the right idea on how to manage them, they just need to specify a quota on the prairie and maybe a few more in the Hills. When the BlackHills hits it's quota then that season shuts down, But you are still able to kill 5 lions on the prairie or whatever number they see fit.

Either that or change the season and the rules so you are able to use dogs and tree them. That way a higher percentage of males would be taken instead of the females. Seems to me the younger males are causing most of the problems. When they are in a treee, it's pretty easy to tell the sex, nuts or no nuts!! :D I think having the season when they do now produces more females shot, because they are feeding\training their cubs and are more active during that time of year than the males are.

Just my 2 cents.

LB glad to see you back at it as usual LOL! The wolves are now a common place item in South Dakota? Your telling me you have more wolves in SD than they do in Canada? Come on now isn't that a stretch of the truth just a little?

The reason some like to remain in the "shadows" is it keeps the focus on the topics at hand and not on the person writing, it is factual information that trumps those who just write bias and sling and see what sticks!

Will the real Tony Dean please stand up!

This is the first and hopefully the last time I ever post on this website. For the last few months I have been frequenting this website every couple of weeks just to see whats happening and whats new in the agricultural community. Every time I get on here I see all kinds of rude comments from all different areas of the country. What really upsets me though is when I see comments from a South Dakota House of Representative member who I personally voted for engaging in ridiculous argument with name less face less south dakota hunters. Yes I'm speaking of you Liberty Belle (Betty). Do you really see this as being professional? I mean what can possibly be gained by engaging in these arguments obviously there minds are not going to be changed and obviously they do not know enough about the agricultural sector to make a intelligent comment on the issue. I will admit that I agree with you on 95 % of what you are saying. But seriously you are an elected official who is expected to act professionally and not lower yourself to this level. I doubt it matters much to you but you have just lost my vote.

You know this post is so familiar to the antagonists who are not ranchers who come on this site.
LB has been coming on this site for long before her current job. She has always spoken her mind and has the convictions to stand by what she thinks is right. Exactly what you want in your elected officals. Unless you are the opposition. I wish I had the chance to vote for her, but unless she or I move that won't happen. She is one who you want to vote for, not one of the lesser of two evils. Seems like the "poster" wants a mouse..... a mouse get squished. If this country had more people who would stand on their convictions you wouldn't have the problems we do today.
Maybe I should go register and tell everyone I am a Tony Dean guru and I love everything about him except his tactics.........yes that ought a do it. No I will leave that tactic to the lowlifes.

LB, my hats off to you

Well dang, there ya are Happy!! I was wondering how long it would take for you to come to the aid of your buddy SD Stalker, affectionately known to us on this board as Tony Dean.

Who said we have more wolves here than in Canada? Not me!! I really wish you would hone your reading skills, Happy. Canada is where the US bought those over-priced predators because Canada had more than they wanted and found some real Einsteins at USFW to pawn them off onto, remember?

I said that the problems we have in this corner of South Dakota sound more like what gcreekrch faces than NR's almost nonexistent predator problems. Contrary to what you would like to believe, we have them here and have some of their carcasses to prove it, although our problems pale in comparison to his. There are some on this board who might bend the truth a little to fit their version of what they want the facts to be - got a mirror?

Yeah, right. If their information is so factual, why are they ashamed to claim it? Remaining in the shadows only benefits those who have something to hide.

Hmm...well yur very adamant with your thoughts or you wouldn't of taken the time to go through the trouble of making a screen name to only type up that one post!! That takes effort....

As far as with what Liberty Belle is doing with SouthDakotaHunter I'm just glad she stands her ground and tells it the way it is. Like you said you agree with 95% of what she is saying.....so do I.....yeah some is nothing more than childhood taunting, but when yur fighting with Tony Dean...shirt....its like trying to get a dead chicken to lay an egg!

Oh and as far as Liberty Belle's professional life and bringing it in to this.....South Dakota should be damn proud to have a lady that stands up for what she believes in as a rancher in western SD. Need more of em like her.....someone that still lives the life and knows its troubles first hand....and not a 6th generation removed wannabe with 10 acres.....haha anyway...enough!

Oh and to strip your vote over this?? You must lean more toward the sioux falls (southdakotahunter) class of thinking anyway......

hoot hoooot

Thanks for your kind comments PT. If sd123456789 thought he was voting for a professional politician when he voted for me in the last election, he obviously didn't know anything about me or what I stand for.

If he really is a registered voter in my district, I am sorry he threw away his vote, but I have always said what I mean and meant what I said. That's not exactly a plus for a politician, but I'm not gonna change even if no one ever votes for me again.

With me, what you see is what you get, not that that's anything special, and if I'm not who you want representing you in Pierre, you're more than welcome to step up to the plate and run for the office yourself. With my blessing, I might add.

There are many people in this district who could handle this job better than I do, unfortunately they wouldn't run for the office no matter how hard I twisted their arms.

I am so sick of this east river west river bullsh!t. Keep you @ss in texas where it doesn't bother us!

I would bet that post of sd123 was someone already on here. As for Tony Dean being anyone on here, I don't think so. He has his own website that gets to LB pretty easy, He wouldn't waste the time.

Sure there is a difference between ranchers and farmers, but you know what? We ALL live in the same state. Like it or not that little river means nothing in Pierre. And we ALL have to follow what the people in Pierre make law weather we like it or not!

I agree with LB on somethings that deal with grazing and such, but I disagree on other things; GF&P policies. I want some sioux falls yuck telling my how to run my farm as much as I want LB telling me how to road hunt!!

One thing I do find funny, with the exception of SJ, is that all the adament followeres of LB on SD laws are NOT from SD. PT for example has one of the biggest mouths of all. Such a hypocrite! He doesn't want goverenment telling him what to do and wants local control, yet he thinks that he has the right to tell me what should be law in my state???????

I understand that this is a "ranchers" site and SDH should have expected a beating for some of the things he posted. But on some other topics, sometimes some of you have such a closed mind about things. I mean if you want this place to be that closed door and want to just have everyone pat each other on the back and circle jerk each other off, then go ahead, I think I need to leave.

What can I say but................that is biggest load of crap.

one, I am not a follower of LB. I might agree with her such as property rights etc. Since you do not understand that It would be safe to say that your small mind can't absorb that concept...........

two Just because I don't live some where does not mean I have to give up my rights to freedom of speech. I may not get to vote in your election, but I dang sure do not lose my rights to free speech. Anyone implying that has to be a small minded individual.
