I was just looking at some highway cameras on http://safetravelusa.com/sd and see that most of the snow is finally melting in northern South Dakota.
Weather looks pretty clear east of Rapid City around Wasta and Wall.
Some pretty snow pictures along the Wyoming border.

Good luck to all of those with baby calves on the ground. Looks like this is a classic early spring winter storm

Drizzled here all day today...Got about 2/10ths of an inch is all- but the weather site radar is showing some areas west and north of us may have got over an inch of rain...Sure took what snow we had left...

Quit for now- and the Radar looks like this is moving off into Canada and we may be done with the moisture for awhile..36 degrees- but 20-30 mph NW wind is blowing....

I'd like to change my order to a warm rain :D .

Monday Night
Snow. Blowing snow. Windy...colder. Snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches. Storm total snow accumulation of 12 to 19 inches. Lows around 20. Northwest winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph. Chance of snow 80 percent. Wind chill readings zero to 10 above zero.

Looks like more stormy weather for later in the week  . We moved all of the cattle into shelter and fed them well this evening. We're hoping for the best. North of here it's supposed to be worse. Just wish the terrible wind would stay away.

Good luck everybody and STAY SAFE! :D

Sorry girl. This ain't Burger King. You get it the way it comes and you just have to deal with it!! :) :)

Our forecast is pretty similar, except they're predicting a little more snow and a little higher wind here. Blizzard warning starts at noon tomorrow through Tuesday night. Like you, I prepared what I could today and will just deal with it the best we can. It's spring, so it will be short-lived. This warm weather even started a little green around places and woke the frogs up.

I feel for you guys. This would be a good storm for moisture if it wasn't for that stinking wind!! Here in Eastren Colorado they where talking about some snow and maybe some rain but now its not looking real good as of 10:00 toninght. I sure don't want snow with the wind blowing 25-30 with guest up to 40mph. Hope everyone stays safe and hopefully no calf loss.

Our storm passed through today - about 7 inches of wet, heavy snow with a little wind behind it. Very poor driving conditions. I guess it's not unusual for March - or April for that matter. I actually could see a few places where the ground was poking through the old snow yesterday. Plenty of good moisture and the calves are all tucked up nice and warm where they should be for this climate - in the cows bellies.

Really warm and muggy this morning and dark for this late, but that cussid wind has finally went down. Gettingf ready to switch I would guess. Better go get ready for the big dump the next 48 hours. Good luck to all and stay safe. rd

How wild is this, Western Nebraska is under both a Blizzard Warning and a Tornado Watch at the same time

It turned into an absolute DUD here . The wind is blowing, fairly mild at 33 degrees, sun off and on, and light snow showers. We must be on the edge. At least it has settled the dust. Oh well, maybe later in the week we'll get a better shot of moisture. It was a good exercise for the cattle to pair up and move.

The storm has gone all around us. We got the wind. Lost power last night at 10;25 and it's not on yet. The power company last I heard didn't even know where the problem was. They called out the planes to look for it. I put the genset on at 8 this morning after I fed pellets.
