I wasn't sure what was meant by prettiest-I'd of put the Mrs. picture on here but that wouldn't of been fair at all. I pity that little brown eyed girls Daddy in a few years.

I tried to answer your question this morn.It didn't post but I see it is in the topic review!????I'll try again; The problem starts with the difficulty of categorizing the pictures I believe God's greatest and most beautiful creation is the human being and the female is the best of that and picture no. two is a wonderful example .Therefore I think no other subject could fairly compete.If that picture does not win without my vote,Im a monkey's uncle.Faster horses said:You mean she is NOT going to get your vote?

Hanta, I think you are taking this contest out of context.
It is for FUN, remember? Why does it matter who wins or who loses or what the catagories are? As long as we get to enjoy the pictures, who cares? Cert is having trouble getting enough pictures in sometimes to even fill up to 10. There will be lots of time for lots of pictures and different catagories.
I get pm's all the time from folks who are enjoying the contest and the pictures. Seems to me we used some of your suggestions including catagory ideas. We have tried to listen to everyone. Particularly those who ask in a nice way.
Why would you remove your picture after the contest has started?
I'm really scratching my head as I think I am missing something here.

Actually for me part of the fun is seeing how differently folks define what
"cute" or "old" etc means to them. A year or two ago that NY teenager who posted questions (can't think of his Spanish name) probably would have posted a picture of his favorite snake in the "Cute" category!

When we do our 4H fair, there aren't that many catagories.
Action
Still life
Animals/Wildlife
Portraits
Landscape
Architectural
Vacation
Misc - anything not fitting into the previous catagories.
I"m always amazed by the entries we get because what one sees as one thing, someone else sees as another. To my knowledge, they've never had to change a picture to a different catagory to what it's been entered.
For example: Someone enter a picture in the Action catagory of a Rodeo Bull ridin event. It could also fit into the Animal catagory, vacation catagory, or a portrait. Or you could take a picture of your dog, entered into the portrait catagory instead of the animal catagory. It's all in how one's eye views a photo.
I wasn't suggestin any changes in catagories, just givin an example of how we do it at the fair. I think our list of catagories is fine. Prettiest - leaves it wide open to how different we all are as individuals and what we think is pretty.

OK. I have thought this over. I changed KIDS catagory to horses.

With all the discussion about catagories, we have come to the conclusion that a KIDS catagory may add to the dissatisfaction. So I changed it.
