Maybe he's stressed out from working on his taxes like me. :?

You may be on to something. Here it is late in the evening and I am still at the office working on other peoples tax problems.

Well at least they are billable hours.

Back to the grind.

Dear Sir,
I have a proposition, I will get your tags in your cows for you for $120 an hour. Leaves $30 for you to drink beer on, I pay BMR and Justin $15 an hour each. Leaves me $60 for administration. And they have a reason to go to TX. I hope you can see how this is a winning deal for all of us, as they would be making big bucks compared to what cowboyin pays!!!

Com'on yall all nortex was doing was venting...cut him some slack.

Why does everything have to turn into a put down session...............

LOL....That's what I was thinking!!!!!!!

I'll be more than man enough to apologize if the deal goes through as advertised.

I like Z-Tags. Got the applicator, tags, and pens on my own dime last year. They have all stayed in. I saw the post about free ones and thought "what the hay" and sent in my info. Perhaps I am being too impatient, but seems like we (I?) would have heard something by now.

People sure are touchy around here these days, must be the moon or the moonshine or something!

Anyways, all in fun, I can dish it and I can take....no need to be so serious all the time!

Are you a government contractor?

Justin, the next time I go to north Tx to visit my family I'll let ya know. You and Big Muddy would be more than welcome. I could probably arrange it so we could go and gather some of those wild long eared cows if y'all want. When we get thirsty though, we're gonna go see nortessook. I figure with all that money he makes during tax season and the money he saves on tags, he'll be well able to afford to treat for some road weary travelers. ( Just kiddin' nortesook) :D
Have a great night all

Not every hour is a billable hour, for anyone. Also, I may be dual tasking. Some folks can do more than walk and chew gum at the same time.

Looks like you can multi-task (pissing and moaning)

at $150/hr, that means you would only have to work about 10 minutes to pay for a bag of eartags. maybe you should go that route instead of wasting your time on here. just a suggestion..

Hey Justin maybe one of us peons will have to go to Texas and install them for him. What would a $150 dollar/hour guy do working cattle.

heck, i'll volunteer. i'm closer, plus i ain't ever been to Texas. :D

Can I ride with I need to bench slap Haymaker

Since Dad passed my mother lives in Fort Worth, but I was raised outside of Paris. That's where I always go when I head that way. My sister still lives there as well as a bunch of old friends. There's too many people around DFW for me so Mom comes to Paris when I go south. I've got family allover north TX, OK and southern Kansas.

I spent a lot of time there when I was a kid. Dad spent 39 years with Conoco and he had to travel out there a bunch. Sometimes I go thru there when I go home so I won't have to drive through Kansas. One route home takes forever and the other seems like it.

Come on down NR. We'll load up and go. And I'll be dang sure to stop so you can see a big hole in the ground.

When Charlie Goodnight first got there a couple of his hands choused a buffalo right into camp so the cocinero could cook the hump. A couple of others headed and heeled a bear so they could brand it with the JA. You feelin broncy and wanna relive some history?

It is a big sandstone canyon located in the Texas panhandle. All around is flat plains and nothingness until you come up on this big hole or canyon. Charlie Goodnight of the Goodnight-Loving trail fame established a ranch there with partner John Adair. Hence the JA brand because Mr.Adair was the money man. Preceeding the days of the JA, the comanches used the canyon as a place to winter and stay out of the wind and the worst of the weather. Most of the known history though didn't begin until the JA ranch came about. If I'm not mistaken, there is still a remnant of the JA still in operation. There is a huge amount of western and indian history related to Palo Duro Canyon and the Texas caprock region.

I'm a bit of a history nut-one of the most eerie places I've been is the Custer Battlefield about the same time of year as the battle was fought. Was a beautiful spring day then you thought of all that happened. Mostly you wonder what was Custer thinking!
