What is your brand?

I read a story once about a rancher who brande his cattle IC. A new neighbor moved in and promptly started his own herd by adding a U and ending up with ICU. When the original owner branded a couple of these "appropriated" cattle ICU2, his new neighbor moved on to other pastures.

An adjoining neighbour of ours had that brand while they lived and ranched here.

Mine is called the Rocky Mountain West Brand. Wish I knew how to post pics. But basically it is three peaks with the middle one lower than the outer two. Kinda like a W with slashes on the sides

Mom has a U bar with a quarter circle , Cow , Horses and sheep,
Sue and I use a Backward B with a Bar under it, Cow , Horses and sheep. We also have a Quarter Circle with a 11 under it,(cow) it's has a fore head waddle, We haven't used.

That's pretty much it. Reverse C, connected K, Quarter Circle. It use to be my grandpa Kidder's brand.


I use to know of a few funny brands but the only one I can remember is R U lazy 2.

That would be Chuck Kidder? fitting. We always went to Canon to get apples from him. He had some Roman Beauties, and Jan thinks they cook up about the best. I won't argue. Mom lived with the Kidders while attending school. She loved them like her own.

My brands are V quarter circle K and S bar Y. Both where my grandparents brands on both side of my family. The S bar Y goes back to the early 30's and the V brand I think of the top of my head goes back to the 40's.

I use the SbarY brand on calves, the V brand blends together on calves which I don't like to happen but works good on cows and bulls.

My dads are Lazy L Bar Lazy T and his other on is Bar lazy L Y

Already did that LazyWP. Got the hubby a set of home made chinks with his brand stamped on the waist. This was a number of years ago.

Our main brand is C C connected. The second C is dropped down
and connected to the top C.
Located on Right Hip.
Our other brand is Lazy K (K laid down on it's back)
with X underneath it. Located on left rib.

Yep-I was just thinking about your brand today...Finally finished taking all the Amoxicillin pills I've been taking for the last two weeks for a case of walking pneumonia- haven't had a drink in all that time- starting to feel like I might live- and was just thinking this cold weather coming in might warrent a toddy- or two... :wink:

Getting light snow flurries here now-- but still 17 degrees and not much wind- YET...
