    Prairie Home Companion

I kind of like how they've got it set up. Garrison only plays himself from what I can tell. Woody Harrelson and John C Reilly are Dusty and Lefty in Lives of the Cowboys, Kevin Kline is Guy Noir, as so on. :)

    Ranch chores

#1 reminds me, Several years ago I was e-mailed by a fellow who was writing an article on stackers and couldn't find any good photos (that weren't copywrited in books, that is). Until he ran across my website which had a number of photos of hay stacking in the Sandhills, complete with hay...

    TIME Magazine

If I recall the stats correctly (now I'm gonna have to go look it up! lol), Argentina is both the world's number one producer of beef and the number one consumer ETA: Upon Googling, there seems to be some disagreement whether it's us or them (and apparently Brazil is in the running, too).

    Prairie Home Companion

The movie is supposed to be about the hypothetical "last show" of the radio broadcast. I truly hope that is not a foreshadowing of events soon to come... :(

    Prairie Home Companion

Who said any of that stuff? (For that matter, Mrs. G, I would challenge you to find anywhere I've made stereotyping comments about any group, conservatives or otherwise) I'm just basing my guess on the current WeHateTheDixieChicks thread. (btw, considering how much no one cares about them...

    Prairie Home Companion

I'm sure few here will be watching that particular flick. Garrison Keillor is a liberal, afterall! Worse, he's even proud of that fact. The movie: haven't seen the trailer, but I have seen the making-of on HBO. It looks good. Having spent most of my life listening to PHC, I...

    winner: rivers lakes waterfalls

While I picked this shot for the same reason, wanting to vacation in a spot like that, I would never want to live somewhere like that. You can't see! Trees... mountains... They're just walls blocking you in. But that photo is exactly the kind of thing I'd put on my wall. :)

    Are feedlots "Producers"?

I think this is a regional thing, myself. we've lived in areas where almost everyone implanted, and in areas where no one implants. We have yet to live on a ranch that implants...

Anybody want to buy a Ford Truck?

Yes! The Ford Diesel forums (theDieselStop.com for example) are full of pain and complaints about the 6.0 You're right DiamondS in that they were introduced in '03. The first two years seem to be the most problematic, which is true of anything new it would seem, but I don't remember the...

Anyone else ready for a holiday

I just got back from one, too. A weeked in Bismarck, ND probably doesn't sound too exciting, but it was nice to get away and see old friends. :) Over the 4th we're going to have a five day vacation. We haven't had a vacation that long since our honeymoon!

    Da Vinci Code

So did I. In fact, I went to the Used Book Store last weekend while we were in Bismarck to pick up a couple of his previous books.

    Your Manure and the EPA

There's too much information missing. Which attourneys general have taken this up? Who have they filed against? What is the criteria of the "pollution" that will be considered? (Ie, it's usually factory farms that are the target of this type of thing... Mega-hog confinements, for example)

    BAXTER BLACK

No. Asking if we think we're unique is exactly the same thing as asking if we think we're the only ones... He was just wondering if we think we're the only "good samaritan" nation out there. The first question was that we were unique in that characteristic. It's the exact same question...

    Cutting Studs

My thoughts as well. Maybe if we had a lot more horses to cut that the $50 a head was getting pricey, I might have a different tune. But as is, as often as we don't need it done, the vet is my choice.

    BAXTER BLACK

Frankly, I'm still trying to figure what in Silver's post got everyone's panties in a knot. Just because he made the point that Canada is a great nation, too, doesn't in any way, shape or form take away from the US (and he even said as much!)

    Land for a dime?

There are a couple of Nebraska communities doing that too. Like most of the nation, Nebraska's population continues to increase. But the problem is, most of it is in the southeast corner of the state. There are a lot of communities in the western 2/3 of the state that have been steadily...

    Names!!!

I did too. It was pretty common actually. My grandma's was a nickname for Florence, but I know some people were just Flossy.

    Drought

The wedding we went to in Bismarck, everyone we knew (on the grooms side) was from Corson Co., SD. And everyone talked about rain all weeekend. They were really hurting. (And it didn't help that it poured in Bismarck, twice! while we were up there) but a friend of ours said he has a neighbor...
