    Next HOT breed

Reading the coments on here is proof the the Angus guys have done so much better job of marketing than anyone else. The folks on ranchers.net are way more in the know than the average person and we still don't know what CAB really is. People see Angus in the name and think CAB. There are many...

    SKINNY Angus

Those cattle don't look good but they look better than I was thinking they would from your description. They need to be fed better, and made sure that they are getting enough water.

    broke leg

Depending where the break is at you have a couple options. You can try splinting the leg, lock it in a small pen and let time do the work, or if the bone is sticking out and it is a low break you could band the bottom part off and keep the calf in a small pen and eat him after it heals up.

    bulls

I have spent as much as 7500 on a bull and as little as 1300. I made more money on the 1300 dollar bull as he would breed everything in sight and out lasted the more expensive bulls. The best bulls i have ever used were my homeraised bulls.

    Favourite crosses?

Red Angus cows and a good char bull. The yellow calves will appear more even than the smokies.

    Charolais Cattle

Wow jingo you must have a very hard time picking out good bulls if you ended up with all those problems. There are very good char breeders out there, and they aren't breeding them like the old french char bulls. I would look for bulls that have alot of LT breeding in them.

    Portable calving sheds.

I have a 42X100 hoop barn and the year after we put it up we had 70-90 MPH straight winds. It bent the pipes in the north door, basically ruined it, but the building itself is in great shape yet. I would like a portable shed but I can't imagine what a shed that big would cost. I can have 17...
