R-CALF USA meeting for live cattle producers only

Apparently R-Calf's meetings are only open to those in agreement with there policies. It's unforunate when any organization removes those in attendance having a different view.

R-CALF USA meeting for live cattle producers only

I see where Steve Dittmer was escourted out of the R-Calf convention by Bill Bullard and two security guards. Who is Steve Dittmer and what kind of threat does he present to the R-Calf organization that would require such strong arm tactics?

    Beef Packers STILL Expanding

I look at owning units in USPB which is the majority owner of National Beef differently than shares in one of the other major packers. Don't you? Do you think USPB's purchase of Brawley violated any laws?

    Beef Packers STILL Expanding

I'm suggesting rather than set on the sideline's and cry about it, we as producers get involved by investing in our own value added business whether it is a beef processing facility or ethanol plant. Looking to the government for relief seems futile.

    Beef Packers STILL Expanding

National Beef's majority owner is U.S. Premium Beef, LLC. Last time I checked they had shares available for sale at about 20% less than a couple of years ago. Get on the band wagon so you also can share in the huge packer profits. USPB owners have the opportunity to share in the profits or...

    vemeer belts

I have repaired more belts than I care to count over the last 30 years. Here is my advice for what it is worth. The clipper lacing is made to withstand the flexing, twisting and bending which a baler belt tends to do. I would recommend a 3-41/2-6 lace for an older baler and a 41/2HT for a...

    Animal ID isn't the answer

I will predict mandatory animal Id will become a reality in the US during this decade for two reasons. One, our foreign markets are asking for it and the competion is providing it and two, for our own countries increasing demands for food safety. We have many organizations weighing in on the...

    BUGGY HORSE ONLY TROTS.....HELP?

After 10 miles of driving in about 45 minutes my mare found out she could walk. I've driven her once since and she is learning to walk. I think she may have been a horse originally trained on the track to trot so walking was something she had to learn. Thanks for all your help and ideas...

I've only hitched her twice. Once we went 3 miles and the next time 5 miles and she never broke stride. If I would let her she would break into a lope. The road is at a good incline in places. Can you drive them to hard as she works up quite a sweat after a short drive?

Dallas is selling all his bred cows due to a health problem he is having. He has used AI for many (20 plus)years. The females he is selling will be dominated by the OCC prefix. They are primarily frame 4 and 5 cattle with a few 6's. The cows are in good condition with no grain. I looked at...
