    CIDRs and natural service

I am going to synchronize my heifers this year and use bulls to breed them. From my research I have concluded that I can put in CIDRs for seven days. On the seventh day I can pull CIDRs , give a shot of Lutalyse and put the bulls out. Anyone see any problems with this protocol? Thanks

    Graham School for Cattlemen

Has anybody ever been to this or heard anything about this school, http://www.grahamschool.com/index.htm It seems good on paper. Is there any other schools that teach PGing? I would think the class would pay for itself pretty quickly.

    Estrus synchronization

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but has anyone synchronized heifers and only turned bulls out, not AIing. Maybe this is a futile idea, just thought I would see if there is any merit to this.

    Fall Pics of Replacement Heifers

Seems like it's time for fall pictures here on Ranchers, so here are some pics of some of our heifers I took the other day. There were still quite a few over the hill I never got picture of. Some of the heifers are large walking chunks of "velcro" due to all the cockleburs they found. They...

I sure enjoy looking at all the photos posted on the site. I figured I would add some more of my own. This is basically my first calf crop. Started with some yearling heifers in 2010 that we bred that summer, and we bought some more coes last fall. My wife had a few cows before we got...

I've been looking at some cows in an Angus dispersion and I was kind of wondering what your opinions are on some good maternal bloodlines to look for. Also which bloodlines should be avoided? I realize a lot of this is opinion, but still interested. Thanks
