    Twins

We useally get four or five sets a year but this year were half done without having any. How ever our calves are coming 20 to 30 pounds heaver than normal so I guess we will get more beef one way or another.

I agree with you 100% Katrina. When these fund byers get out watch it drop as fast as it went up.

    Question for Angus folks

We kept some Expectation heifers and have AIed them this year. They do have decent volume and there dispostion seems to be very good. Don't know about there frame size yet being that they are just yearlings. I know there are better bulls to choose from . I personally would take the deeper ribbed...

    Casteration Method and Age

We to band them when we tag. Just set them up on their hindy with their neck between your legs and count to two. For those who push them up will soon find out they will run out of buyers.

    Poor Start

We usually start out with dead premature twins . T his year year was no exception except the first one was alive and the second one dead three weeks early. Since then we had four sets all alive in three days and none since. We pull one off and bottle feed until we need a graff.

We like Denny use a ice fishing sled strapping them in with tarp straps. Even without snow they pull real easy.

    Odd calving experience

I agree it is nutrional for us anyway. Normally we only get a set or two. They are a pain but do come in handy for grafts. We have saved nine out of the ten calves. The Mrs. has a Jersy heifer that calved last week and she has had three on her. Kinda neat she doesnt care where they come from...

    Odd calving experience

Just ran a cow in that had been messing around all day and it was a full breech. We pulled it and I told the Mrs. to hand me a new sleeve so I could check her again. There was another one coming the right way and both are alive and well.

    Odd calving experience

Had this happen last year with a heifer. She was not making any progress so reached in and felt to big legs and two little legs kinda had me puzzled as what was going on but pulled the small one first and it was about twenty pounds and dead. The second one was sixty pounds and alive and well...

    Red Backs in winter

This fall I tried a new brand of mineral. We mix directly into the feed wagon with the cattle in the lots. After pouring it out I noticed green chunks the size of baseballs which I gathered up suspecting it was copper. The salesman said they would make it right with me but never did.needless to...

We have been using Ritchey jumbo tags in the cows for the last five years. Since they are engraved the numbers won't fade retintion has been good even tho they are summered in the timber. The one tag that won't work is the Z tag as they came home with about 10%.
