Which size box scraper to buy?

I am in the process of getting a little Kubota 3200 to use for cleaning out around the barn and maintaining the gravel driveway. The tractor is 54 inches wide and has 30 hp. Should I get the 60 inch box scraper or the 72 inch? The box scraper I am looking at is the Land Pride scraper/grader...

Toe and heal shoes cause navicular???

I was at the diner the other day with a shoer, he was saying that he doesn't like using toe and heal shoes because they increase the chance of the horse going navicular. I've always used toe and heal... I did have one horse go navicular... what do you guys think, is there any truth to this???

    Montana Weaver Ranch horses

Thanks for the PM FH. Sounds like a sale I better go take a look at. Too bad I have to wait until fall. :( Finding a good young gelding is never easy.

    Montana Weaver Ranch horses

Any body know anything about the Weaver ranch in Montana? They sell their horses at a sale in Great Falls each September. Their bloodlines look like foundation blood, which I love. Any info would be appreciated.

    The Derby

I agree, i had to rewind it and watch him again. I was glad the owners paid him so much respect for the way he raced the race. Very cool!

    The Derby

That race was the best I have seen in years. The jockey was so excited it made it even better. My one complaint-- the trainer (the guy on crutches) seemed like a total jerk, what's up with him?

    Spurs on a horse

Horses use those "spurs" for fighting, just like chickens do. In Mexico they sharpen them to give the horses an advantage. :D

Steroid injections? My wife said she might have heard this on the news. Is this right? Has anyone got any updates??

OK Big Dummy,I found you a saddle

Thats a fine looking saddle, almost too pretty to throw over a horse. My wife had me a saddle made about 8 years ago, heck it was so pretty I didn't dare use it until 2 years ago. Even now I don't use it much, its funner to just look at. :) I think I will start using it exclusively so the...

    Horses, anyone?

Thank you. I've been around a little I just have not posted much, been busy I guess. :? Sounds to me like you are seeing some nice horse flesh, some of the very best! We drove over to the Pitzer Ranch once and checked out the horses they have there. Yikes! They were awesome. I would...

    Foundation bred QH's

You hit the nail on the head. They are not "the norm" but they can be found, and theres some good ones out there. This foundation blood is good blood to have-- easy to get along with and pretty to look at.

    Foundation bred QH's

That gray horse has a real nice look. I might have missed it, what do you use these horses for?

    Foundation bred QH's

I'm not sure what you mean by this; I don't want to ratchet things up unnecessarily so I'll just thank you for the history lesson on horse breeds and their geographic origins. Its always nice to have new members like yourself come to the forum and verse the rest of us on the reality's of the...

If you call 16 hands "medium sized" I'd hate to see your big horses. :?

    Saddles... (pics)

The saddle I posted above (the dark one) is a 15 inch seat so it is a bit small for me but I did use it once this summer. You can see me in one of those photos checking the back foot of that colt, my legs are way too long for a saddle that size. The points of the swells do acually come back...

    Saddles... (pics)

Another question-- would you guys consider these two saddles I am discussing "bear traps" aka "widow Makers", or are they something different? The old timers know these terms I'm sure.
