Holden Herefords

Heck I'd like to see some pictures of Larry's cows and others. A great way to see how other parts of the country look and I have got ideas from many of the pictures posted on here from pretty much everywhere.

I'd also like to see Jig's wife out tagging calves,Maybe in a bikini.

Sure it's called a Shark cage but don't any you guys use a squeeze chute? Besides protecting from a aggressive it does allow one person to capture and contain a calf while doing the require procedures. Wish the ground I calved on would allow the use of one.

You Hereford guys are a little touchy, this all started when a Hereford breeder complained about another strain of Herefords and us Angus breeders the helpful people we are just offered some common sense real world advice to help over come the perceived problems running rampant within certain sectors of the Hereford breed. You Hereford breeders will have to work that one out amongst yourselves. :D :D

Hey I know, let's mix in a calving season debate along with the breed fight, then we can really have some fun.

I missed you guys, I've been in Disney World for the last 5 days.

BMR would you drop it. There is nothing to be gained by dragging this out any longer. Not one single animals has had their picture posted, so what's the double standard.
It is time to move on. Most of this has been settled behind the scenes like adults. It is time to move on.

I didn't mean pictures in this thread but ranchers get slow at times and some of us have posted pictures in the past.Maybe you could post some scenery shots ect. to let some of us stuck feeding cattle see some new country.

So you don't want to drop this thread. Come on now I know you can be an adult and let it go. We are all in ag together.

I said pictures on a different thread. Wouldn't that change the subject?

And I didn't even ask for cows just some scenery.

I guess some are just not proud of where they live or what they produce.

All breeds of cattle gained their reputations through producers' experiences, some biased and some not. That's just the way it is.

Larry, if those are the critters you are raising, I may sell off my herefords and buy a few females from you......

Big Muddy, you would be suprised at the traffic on my road in the summer....the wife likes to do her gardening and mowing in her shorts and bikini top... and I am kinda glad she does....makes a man want to work hard and get his ash home !

Jigs don't be so stingy.

Larry those are both interesting in there own way. :D

In the top one is that wide open country of parceled up in smaller packages?

Looks like it should grow some grass. Is that native varieties or seeded down?

I can honestly say that Disney World is one of the most impressive places I have ever seen. The engineering and imagination that have gone into that place over the years is nothing short of incredible. While there I met a guy from South Dakota and we started chatting about the cattle industry and I told him about my concerns that our product may soon be priced out of the consumer's range. He countered with the statement of "just look around, all these people have enough disposable income to take their families to a place like this, but they paid for their food first." I had to agree with him. At some point the needs might have to take the place of the wants in this country.

I already started a thread showing a couple of our first calves out of Ace's bulls.

Got another calf tonight out of a 3yo and she was leaking colostrum like crazy waiting for the calf to nurse.

Anybody catch what the first bull went for? I had to call in for a possible ambulance run and walked out at $100,000

$102,000

Only had a chance to watch a few minutes--- but great old herd of cattle- that worked overboard and I hope have and it looks like with the prices have got their genetics problems handled-- but I can't believe the prices and hope these folks buying just don't go chasing the "bull of the month" club like so many of the angus folks did for the last many years...
