It may seem some here are crybabys, but the fact of the matter is, its legal to hunt the road. Now i have several landowners (which i am one also) that i have permission to hunt and get permission every year. I always ask permission, and would never ever go without. I hunt alot of private land, but there should be times where my son and i just decide to go hunting. and we do.
I know what the law is and when i kill a bird, my dog retrieves it or i do unarmed, on private property, just like the law says i can. There are some on here that want to put ever hunter in the state into one catagory, but thats like calling every rancher piles of crap when you hear of one that has their herd taken away because of lack of care. You cant do that. Whats crazy, is every one on here seems to have a story about how someone has wronged them somehow, and many if not all are illegal(big game hunting on roads etc) but no one every calls the law....they just b1tch about it. call the law!
By the way. I can also hunt rabbits, squirel, fox, coyote, skunks, coon, opossum........., legally from the road. I can even shoot them out of the window of the car! Not that its ethical, but its legal. Show me a rancher or farmer that hasnt killed a skunk or coon that way.
Ducks and geese??? I hunt geese in the ditches all the time. The pay to hunt folks dont like it, but its legal and very productive if and when your in the right place. I have sat many times in the ditch between 2 bodies of water and shot many limits of ducks. very legal, and very productive at times.
My youngest son harvested his first pheasant this year walking a ditch.
