Both my wife and I looked at the temp when we got up and were surprised to see it was still 10 above-- then looked an hour later and apparently the cold had just sank into the valley- and it was 6 Below...BRRRRR

But at least the snow has quit- the sun is out- up to 2 Above at 1PM...We have about 6-7 inches of snow on the ground....

You will not like this from me. It is in the low 80's here. We need rain in a bad way. If you have to...come on down. You can pitch a tent.

UHHHH....IF I KNEW HOW TO BOX THIS WEATHER UP AND SEND IT YOUR WAY, I WOULD....  NOTHING LIKE WALKING TO WORK (YES, ONLY 7 BLOCKS, BUT I WHINE ANYWAY) IN -8 WITH A "SLIGHT BREEZE"!! NOT TOO BAD RIGHT NOW, BUT ANOTHER STORM AND ANOTHER HALF A FOOT OF SNOW PREDICTED IN THE NEXT 48 HOURS!! NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE WHITE STUFF BUT THE WIND CHILL FACTOR OF -30 BITES RIGHT THROUGH ALL THE LAYERS YOU CAN POSSIBLY PILE ON!!! BRRRRRRRRRR!!

freezing rain advisory tonight into the morning across Northern Iowa, but not too bad here. Wednesday could be interesting, guess alot will depend on the temp as far as what kind of precip we get and the forecast for Turkey Day has highs only in the 20's.

Got to -37 here this morning, warmed up to -22 this afternoon, now sliding back down. They say it may get colder tonight, I guess we'll see. Sure would be nice to get some snow, I don't think there's 2 inches yet.

if you want to pay for the truckin, i have plenty that could be hauled up there.

-35 here this morning, warmed up to -20 by noon. It was quite invigorating changing the batteries in the 7200 with a nice little breeze from the north.
Have the 7400 in the shop at Morrison Meadow and am half done removing the radiator that developed a bad leak about two weeks ago. The new one was only $1050.00

On a good note, our last pair showed up out of the bush today. The heifer was pretty thin and on the fight until we got her in the corrals and she remembered what hay was. We have two other pairs that came in a week ago, won't be able to wean them until it warms up for fear of frozen and spoiled bags.

We are doling out about half feed and have some tubs out to keep everything strong enough to rustle a bit. If this cold keeps up we will be on full feed shortly.

-35 again now.

Stay safe in this cold everyone.

Rubbing -40 now.

Well, I will count my blessings that it's only -36 here right now. :D
Sounds like if we can hang on it's going to be pretty nice by wed or thurs, maybe you'll be able to wean, finish your radiator project, and peel off those longies and replace them with a fresh pair

-20 here tonite with a wind out of the north.the bulls demanded feed on saturday afternoon.cows are still fending for themselves.have 19 calves and a hamburger cow on feed as well.if the bred heifers im selling on the 1st of dec come in tommorrow i'll break down and feed them as well.

You'll have to help me out Jassy, what is 5 above in C? I used to be kinda handy with the foreignheit scale but it ceases to make sense! Seems to me it's somewhere around -15?

Yeah useing celcius makes it sound worse than it is. It's 3 degree's Fahreheit here at 6:45 am which converts to -16 celcius. Either way it's to darn cold.

this morning we are at -5(-20 windchill). a high of 4 tomorrow with more snow on the way.

ditto to what gcreek said.....everyone stay safe and warm.

There is the odd day that I actually envy office and factory workers.

Warmed again to -36 but the wind is making the chimes sing. I thought this wind was a prairie thing..........dam loggers.

The needle is pointing right at -40 this morning. It'll probably drop a few more at daylight. Supposed to get up to -22 today which I don't mind at all when the sun is shining and the air is still. In fact days like that are hard to beat.
