Weather

It's cold enough here to make me happy about staying home with the kids while the wife works at our store in town. -35C to -38C depending which thermometer I check, and a little breeze has kicked up since dawn. Maybe we ought to consider living out of a trailer and moving the herd with the seasons, sorta like the old free-grazers did.

It was 17 Below last night- up to 1 Below now-- snowing AGAIN-- but luckily not much wind...I was just riding around on the 4 wheeler adjusting some gates and checking water tanks-- and it wasn't even too bad...
But the next couple of days are supposed to be snowy and cold-- blizzard and winter storm warnings thruout the state are sure putting some dampers on Turkey Day travels...My daughter and SIL were going to hook onto my 24 foot trailer on Wednesday and head to Big Timber for the holiday and then pick up a load of heifers from the Whitney Creek sale and haul back-- but now with the nasty weather forecasted for Wed.- they will probably wait til Thursday..

We hauled cows out of the north country yesterday-but by afternoon it was snowing and blowing- and we couldn't find some- so about 20 are still on their own up there...Good thing is that there is lots of grass left for them to get down thru the snow...

I'll happily deal with a bit of this than to have to deal with weather like Jersey gets down there in the summer. :-)

Yup if your smart enough to put on a toque you can usually survive this-I guess they found somebody froze to death in town last night-it seems to happen every year-tragic deals for the family to deal with.

- 24 in the williams lake area this morning,it was kinda nice compared to yesterday when we had wind blowing, upto 30 km/h all day.Ibroke down and started feeding the cows this morning, hopefully it will warm up by week's end and they can go back rustling for part of their feed. as their is still grass to be found.

82 degrees here.....not much for deer huntin or Christmas shoppin weather....

   Lilly- After today- minus 20 Below temps at the north place- snow and blowing-drifting roads- if you weren't such a southern belle type sweetheart I'd probably be upset hearing that.....

God- I hope this isn't a sign of what our winter will be..... :???:

Thank goodness for Global Warming and the heat off the city pavement. It's all that's keeping us warm in Calgary.

It is -11 here right now. Been getting colder down along the river. -20's.
I do NOT want to know the wind chill.
We are under a wind chill advisery until 9am tomorrow.

Here's hoping that all of you stay safe, warm, your critters come thru this fine. Don't know how you all do it...(I've said that a million times) But it's the truth. I admire you all for your grit to make things work with weather like that.

Snow coming in side ways tonight. It is getting really cold as well the cold front is coming from the north. I wish you boys up in Canada didn't so kind and share this mean som be with us down here . I just not that tough to handle this kind of weather. But I do hope that everyone gets threw it alright.

It warmed up a lot here today. -17 C or 0 F wherever you happen to reside.

Calling for snow on Thursday. I guess we will take what we get and deal with it like always. I sure don't recall such a bitter mid to late November in recent years.
