    EPPS Fly Trap?

No, I've never tried that one. I do use Captivator fly traps, though, and they are excellent! I currently have 9 of them around the place. Roughly $8.00/trap, they are a half-gallon size I think, and I am having to dump and rebait every other day to every 3rd day because they are full. They...

    calve banding

No, it is not normal. How old was this calf, and did you vaccinate with Tetanus Toxoid? When the sac falls off depends on the age of the calf - the younger the calf, the sooner the sac falls off. A month old, the sac usually falls off in a few weeks. 6 months old, it can take a month or two...

The big 'D' and I don't mean Dallas

When it comes to spouses, an ag background isn't nearly as important as staying power, commitment, strength, and ethics - and that goes both ways. I sure don't mean to kick you when your down, but from the sounds of things, it kind of sounds like you got caught up in the surface stuff and just...

    Off endangered list.

As far as I know, coyotes can be shot on sight - provided you're a good enough marksman/woman to shoot them. I feel I must add that you need to make sure you take them out the first time, because they are smart little suckers, they learn very quickly, and they are not easy to shoot! With the...

    injection site swelling

I would leave it alone unless it ruptures, in which case I would flush it out with iodine on a regular basis until healed, possibly give an antibiotic(depending on how the heifer is acting), and watch for infection.

    Dry lotting cows

That only works if there is something for the "lawn mower" to eat. It seems to me like you missed the most important part of the original post.

    Dry lotting cows

Hi! We've dry-lotted cows for a few months, and we've dry-lotted them for the entire winter. Biggest problem - aside from calving them out - was the lots got really nasty, pretty fast. It is not the type of environment you really want unless you have no other choice. As far as the broken...

What do you think about this?

I don't have a problem with it, in fact I would say it's about damn time.

    Be sure you smile!

If I'm understanding your reply correctly, I would have to think that if it had been a white man and woman in this picture with the sun behind the man so his face was not discernible, you're philosophy would be the same? You are comparing apples to oranges. There is a helluva lot of difference...
