Soapweed is entirely right! Advertisements, doctors, health and fitness professionals, you name it they support a healthier lifestyle ( natural, hormone free, grassfed beef, Emu, pork, whatever.) I think what he is trying to say is most of us were around when there was no such thing and people weren't as fat, they worked just as hard or harder, and they lived just as long. Everything you hear today from the media is negative, agriculture or otherwise. Just listen to Jim Lamley in the morning on KSDZ radio. Now I don't always disagree with some of those opinions, I am just saying that it would be nice to hear a positive note sometimes. We bash government, packers, producers, whoever it may be. Why don't we all try to find the good in every situation, then people will come together and make things work. That's the way it used to be in the Sandhills, your neighbors would help you through anything, no matter the cost to them. Now we are too busy looking over the fence criticizing everyone else. Readers don't kid yourself, just because Soapweed eats store boughten goods doesn't make him a silver spooner. He stays home minds his business, works deligently and enjoys his lifestyle and probably has as much appreciation for the simple things as anyone else. As far as working hard, he not only has built something up but is passing on a legacy, how many of you have sold out or are think about it when you could help someone get started. Here is a man WHO is passing on a legacy and doing it quite well.
