    Air Traffic Controllers

I don't entirely disagree with your opinion. Just pointing out the job difficulties. I'm not an air traffic controller but do know what it's like to work shift work. Sometimes we don't find out until too late who can't "step up to the plate". We only hope no one gets killed or hurt in the mean...

    Air Traffic Controllers

Several major accidents in industry have been blamed on "operator fatigue" including the oil rig in the gulf last summer. It is a serious problem. If you want to see what it may be like, try sitting in a room by yourself for 8-12 hours watching the weather radar, no radio, no tv, no phone calls...

Good Division 1 hockey and Good Ag College

North Dakota does not have an ag program, NDSU has one but not a hockey team. U of Minn & Michigan State are two schools that come to mind quickly that have both DI hockey and good ag schools. Penn State is starting DI hockey and is a good ag school. I think New Hampshire and Maine are also ag...

    Family Homestead

Yeah, they did hold livestock in high esteem. The story is one of the horses ran away, followed the Missouri south. My great-grandfather finally caught it at Yangton, SD. About 600 miles away. He was on foot. He must have been a tough of hombre. He's in the far left front on the picture.

    Family Homestead

The dam was put in in the late 40's. The homestead is about a mile and half south of the main channel of the Missouri, and probably about 250 feet above it. Now it is about a mile south of the lake. Built on top of a hill like all the German-Russians around here did. It must have flooded...

    Family Homestead

North Dakota, inside the corner of where the Missouri river stops flowing east and heads south. The sod house is still standing.

    Family Homestead

My families homestead in 1914. My 10 year old grandfather is in the middle of the photo by the grey's rear leg. He was born in the barn 10 years earlier. I'm not sure what year the sod house was built.

Calving in coyote country( graphic pics)

A few years ago the coyotes were so thick and hungry around here they were starting to eat calves while the cows were laying down to calve. That's not pretty.....
