I use a 7ft long piece of conduit. I welded a ring about 6 inches from one end to hang scale on. With the ring 6 inches in from the end you have a hand hold to lift by. I use a calf strap with a ring sewed in the center of the strap.. hook it on one front leg and one back leg and hook the ring...

I have a red angus X red simm cow herd and use red angus X red simm bulls to maintain the cross. A crossbred cow is hard to beat.

3 large fires..in the area..they are starting to get them contained. Has been a crazy time last 3-4 days,,fighting fire and trying to get cattle gathered and moved out of the way of where they think the fires are headed. The landscape of the pine ridge has changed greatly in the last few days.

Have a fire burning northwest of here. 15-20 miles away.. ..hopefully they are getting it under control. Quite a glow in the dark sky tonight.

A good rule to try and go by..looks like I can live by it this year for once..lol
