RSL - Truck

Thanks RSL, have you done much pulling with it? We have a small trailer we tow around in the winter (currently behind the quad), in snow. With feed and other things.

    RSL - Truck

Hey RSL, Sorry I can't figure the search out so well, but I know you had posted a while back about your mini-truck. What make of truck is it? Where did you find it? We are looking at something like that. Can you find the link, as you had made comments on it regarding use in snow, etc...

Yes, the tail is on hydraulics, and it is a hydraulic winch run with a gas motor, not sure what it is rated at for pounds. We did have to put tin down on the deck to make it easier to push off, but it was pushing up to 20,000 lbs of bales. We generally put on 300 bales a load, we have made...

Hayguy in a past post you had asked about unloading bales easier...here is what we use with a self unloading trailer...but we still don't have it figured out as we load everything by hand..but self unload. Loaded and ready to go Drop the tail and ready to unload [/img] Pushing off...

    Bonsai...

Thanks for the feedback! Yes Purecountry, the Aussie's all had a UTE's, but the ones I drove were all bigger than this type of vehicle. I saw the odd ford, and one GMC in ten months.....this was about 10 years ago. Funny thing was they just drooled over the NA pick-ups.

    Bonsai...

I am not worried about road travel, but more in breaking in fresh snow driving through the pasture/fields in the winter. I think you would need different tires to better handle snow, and give more clearance. Just curious how it handles in snow vs a quad. Wouldn't be hard to add weight...

We were looking at one last fall. Any idea how they would do in the snow?

It takes a big man to admit he is fat. He couldn't organize a rock fight in a gravel pit. He couldn't organize a pi$$ up in a brewery

    SandPoints

Well the beauty of the sandpoint, is there is no sand in the line that get to the pumps, so that is not an issue. But there is no casing or much diameter with a sandpoint, it is just 2 inch pipe attached to the sandpoint up to the surface. We will just have to try a pump out and see how it...

    SandPoints

Pretty quiet thread...thanks for the response. Yeah solar pumps work well out of dugouts. Our Sandpoint is over 30 years old. Pumps pretty good with a gas engine. Will have to try solar...maybe can get some money to pay for part of the pump!

    SandPoints

Neat, how old is your sandpoint. Know anyone using a solar system to pull off one?

    SandPoints

Reading some other discussions on Hauling water. I was just wondering how many people use Sandpoints to access groundwater? I guess, I grew up with them as we have lots of sandy soil and fairly high water table, but for those who are not familiar with them they are basically a perforated pipe...

    Pasture Walk

I like the poor mans way. We are currently having great success using the poor mans way to control mosquitos. We have Dragon flies like never seen before and different kinds as well. Small yellow, orange, and red ones, as well as the regular larger ones. Mosquitos and black flies have almost...
