Good Angus storm video about Hugh and Eleanor Engalls

Thanks for posting this video about the storm. I.n so grateful we had ethe sense to get our cattle home, before it started. I guess that one thing about getting older. I remember March of 1966 and try not to take the risk anymore.

    Auctioneering

Congratulations to Don Helberg. I was lucky to work with his dad Glen in North Platte in the early to mid 90's. taught me alot of the finer points about the business and no more honest man to be found anywhere. Often think I should have stayed there in the real estate and auction business than...

    Pearl Millet

I have fed hay millet (white wonder variety) for several years with good results. I would have the nitrates tested for safety sake. Also protein might have a tendency to be a little low also. Cow love it, they will leave good alfalfa for it, so process a bale orf it and turn around and...

Have missed your pictures, good to see you are posting again. $1.00 a day for your calves is a bargain the way grain has come up Costing me about 40 cents just for the...

    Late July, 2010

I have had the same situation this week also Soapweed, Had to run the one pasture through, Used the same set-up with panels as you. Had some good neighbors we recruited tohelp us. The vet thinks I probably have some cows that are carriers. I used 10cc Baytril 100, and 5 cc of Banimine on...

    Night Calving

I'VE TRIED THIS AND FIND THAT IF YOU "CONDITION" THE COWS BY STARTING FEEDING IN THE LATE AFTERNOON A COUPLE OF WEEKS AHEAD OF CALVING IT MAKE QUITE A DIFFERENCE. i SWITCH TO GROUND HAY AT CALVING AND FEED IN BUNKS TO CUT DOWN ON WASTE AND DISEASE. THERE IS JUST MY WIFE AND I AND I CHECK...
