    gotta brag a little

but not much. this is my pride and joy (other than the kids, and he's a LOT easier to train). for those who've known me for a year or 2, and new ppl i'm not aquainted with so much yet. come on over and meet him, AKA, Brix: and then there's this: and last, the goof-ball...

    he lays down when saddled/mounted

we are boarding a TB gelding who lies down as soon as a person mounts. i've tried tightening his girth gradually (doesn't matter). so far, i've just given him a boot in the side, he gets up, no big deal. i wonder if i should try: saddle, tighten girth, walk a minute, snug up girth a bit more...

but i wanted to say "hey" to FH, Hanta Yo, HAYMAKER (!), OT, NR, etc. ie, all the "old" members who were so good and helpful in the beginning. boy, has this forum changed!! not all good, not all bad, but certainly different. i'll check in once in a while just to see what's up, and of course...

    twh

first--if there's a funky "chuckie" avatar attached, it's my dear daughter's idea of fun! i wanted a dobie, but "we" couldn't get it the right size. i'm REALLY not a freako murderer. i'm just not smart enough with this techno stuff to fix it right now  anyway: do any of you use tennessee...

    jessie-canisphere pups

i wonder if i can get a pup onto a bullrack coming south?? for my needs, a pup that isn't show quality is perfect! i think maybe for yours, too. so they aren't physically perfect, who cares? the "rejects" are just as good--the breeding is there for what i require: a good dog who knows what's...

    macon--help

i don't know about anyone else, but this guy BTDT is really sickening. to me. all he seems able to do is be hateful, mean and ugly to ALL of us who read this forum. he certainly does NOT add credibility to the advertised mission statement of this forum, indeed, a first-time participant, reading...

    sierraman--cooking rice tips

the best way i've found to cook rice so it's not gummy and goobery: take the time to first, soak in cold water, rinse (you'll see the white starch in the water and that's what you want to get rid of). soak and rinse again. then, once you add water, salt and some butter (use 1 1/2 C water for...

i have never shared these with anyone except my kids, and that's only if they happened to come across them in the desk. so here goes: my Memorial Day tribute to my Dad. hey jinglebob

well, we didn't put a post up-hill and down-hill--we used 2 50-lb tractor weights to hold the wires down. i love my 83-yr-old friend, even if he has to "persuade" me sometimes. wish he was 40 yrs younger, with what he knows now; but i'll take him however i can get him. a real gentleman, and he...
