    NPPD R-Project across the Sandhills

Just curious if there is anyone else on here that is affected by the proposed R-Project, a 345,000-volt transmission line across Nebraska. The third round of 'open houses' is coming up in March. I am very much opposed to this project, and have brought my concerns before them to no avail. We have...

question about Sila-Mix II hay preservative/inoculant

Anyone have any experience or know anything about Sila-Mix II, a hay preservative/inoculant? It is a product of Ralco Nutrition. The local feed salesman has been selling a lot of Gandy boxes and this product in the area. I'm not looking to try to bale hay too wet, but if it would help make...

    Angus Heifers to Evaluate

Had a few minutes on Sunday to snap some pictures of the replacements. The first three are registered Angus and the last one is a commercial. The first one is my favorite...and from there it's a tossup. We just got through AI'ing them and are glad to have them out to grass for the summer.

    Nebraska Sandhills Ranches information

I glanced at The Fence Post magazine today as I was eating lunch and really enjoyed the summary of the recent Sandhills Cattle Association tour written by Soapweed's father. He really did a nice job of describing the various outfits and what made each ranch unique. I also enjoyed the pictures...

    Blowout pictures

I was shutting off windmills the other day after the last of the summer pasture cattle were taken out and thought this was a good example of how sand "moves". You can see the wall of sand behind the windmill that is being moved out of the hill behind it. We purchased this pasture in 2001, and...

Hello. I'm from north central Nebraska and have "lurked" around this site for awhile, was wondering about joining in on a few discussions here and there. I like to snap a photo now and then, but its safe to say I'm no Soapweed. I really enjoy looking at all the photos from each of you--always...
