    little hookin gal

Kinda reminds me of Baxter Black's story, One More Year......... Hope everything comes out ok.......... Had a heifer that got bred by a big Hereford bull a few years back, she was about 15 or 16 months old when the calf tried to come..........I was home alone, and tried to pull the calf, lost...

    i'd rather be ranching

Beautifully written............ I, too, have just about given up on my dream of ranching someday, after the forest service stole the permit from my dad back in 99...... There's a lot of good agricultural folks in the same boat we're in, though.

    Good Sunday Mornin'!

Shortgrass, what a beautiful analogy! (I think that's the word I want, isn't it?) You have some of the greatest ways of bringing God into our daily lives (just like He should be, but all too often, isn't) and making me take a look at things differently. My tulips are done for, too......but...

    Good Sunday Mornin"

I wish I'd have read this before going to Luna yesterday morning, it might have helped me get through the day a little better than I did. Yesterday was Al's 18th birthday. I wasn't feeling well, so called in sick to work, and was going to go spend the day with him (and his dad, too, if he...

    4H Leaders

NR, this is one of the main problems we have down here. As soon as kids get old enough, it seems like they switch from 4-H to FFA. Every one of them has said that it's because there is a lot less paperwork involved, for the same benefits. I'm sure you'll probably see the same results up...

    Good Sunday Mornin'

Thank you so much, Shortgrass. Your message couldn't have come at a better time for me. Happy New Year to you, and my hope is that 2008 will be the best year yet for you, but nothing compared to 2009! God Bless You!

    Cold Weather

Sunday has been our coldest here, so far. It was -6. I don't look forward to winter, but fortunately, it looks like Al and I will be in a much warmer place soon. :D

Gas and diesel prices where you live

Cheap gas here is $3.41, Diesel is $3.71. It's plumb outrageous! I hate these high prices, and my pickup is only getting a little over 16 mpg right now........

    Good Sunday Mornin"

Ditto what John said. You are amazing, the way you compare our everyday lives, to that of Jesus Christ. Thank you, shortgrass! God Bless!

    My Life

Thank you all so much for your support and encouragement. And for sticking up for us. That's what I love about "Ranchers". I know it's helped me a great deal, and hope that Kris is also benefitted from it. I will ask Mason to lock this and let it go to the bottom, and on to another page, and...

    My Life

jbar, I think kris and I have both fought for our marriages........but you can't do it alone. Seems like "our" guys have better things in mind than us, from what I can see. I hope that you will never experience the heartbreak that we are going through right now, it's nothing to smile about.

    My Life

((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Kris)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) God Bless you and the kids...........He looks after us when we really need it, ya know? My dad says, He won't bring you to it, without bringing you through it. It makes perfect sense to me. Hang in there, and if I can...

I'd like to kick some butt!

Aw, Kato. I'm so sorry Zelda got into one of those things. I sure hope she fully recovers. When we were at Encino, the place we were on, had over 900 sheep, and there was a trapper who kept snares set wherever a canine critter had dug under a sheepwire fence......caught quite a few coyotes...
